Some (newer) printer models provide the 'Easy Start' install method.

Connect the cable when instructed to do so (toward the end of the installation procedure).

If using USB, disconnect the USB cable between the printer and the computer before starting the installation.

I have been working through this with the HP Technical Team on call referenceР’В to no avail. If i try to change updates to manual, it does not allow me to do so. This has only happened since i took out Instant Ink. The printer is then OK to use until the next power outage. I am then stuck until the printer goes to sleep which can sometimes be overnight at which time I press the power button at front and am taken to the home screen. Pressing OK makes the same process repeat itself. The download goes up to 100 percent and then states that it could not download the update. The problem is that if the power is lost or the printer is reset, when it boots up, the screen shows it trying to download an update. As a reminder, the problem description is as follows:
